Shirt as Jacket
By: hannefSummer has almost come to an end in most countries. But lucky for us, we get to experience sunlight and more of the same tropical heat here in this sunnier side of the world. We don’t have to shop for winter clothing or stow away our summer uniform because we can wear it all year long. That’s why in Malaysia, we are all about the summer trends.
One of the latest trends to emerge is wearing button down shirt as jacket. The trend is a perfect combination of formal and casual. Instead of wearing just a t-shirt and tank-top to beat the heat, put on your button down as an outer layer to give yourself a more polished look. Jacket might seems too heavy when you are out and about under the blazing hot sun and for some of us, we are just done with looking like a tourist in sleeveless and shorts.

As for the color, you can always stick to the versatile white button downs. It’s okay to splurge a little bit on the luxury brands (Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hillfiger, Tom Ford etc) for the perfect cut and tailoring. If you have conflicting body-type, go custom-made.

Plaid and military style are also huge this season. Plaid button down gives raw edge and grungy vibe to the total look. The military style as seen in Hangover 2 looks great on pretty much everyone. It’s all about fit fit fit!
So here are the key shirt styles in categories for easy dressing according to website askmen.com.
Urban: laundered, shorter and sometimes worn unbuttoned with a casual V-neck tee.
Suburban: patterned (like plaid) and designed with a straight hem and worn untucked.

Resort: short-sleeve and new camp-style with pieced panels of fabric.
Cool And Hip: the military shirt with epaulets and tabs at sleeves for rolling.
Who says you need a set of fangs to look as good as those two vampires above? Just try out this look guys!

Ah, but for many people you’d not buy the same t-shirt as your freind, but it would be an endorsement of the brand and you’d maybe buy another one. For the ladies, buying the same dress as their freind is a real no-no (so I’m told by references in popular culture).
