Fashion week is currently ongoing. It’s always exciting to see what’s coming up next for the season to come. We have seen so many trends on the runway. Some of them took off and can now be seen on the street, (like creeper) while others were just too fancy even for the coolest guy in your neighborhood (Calvin Klein cropped tee).

Now here are menswear trends for the year of 2012 as seen on the runway of Fashion Weeks so far. Are you ready guys?

Embellished shoes

Footwear get blinged-up this season. Shoes were seen in multiple colors and skins. Loafers at Prada came with over-sized tassels and colored metal studs. Hardware trend on shoes are huge. The shoes with metal toes at Dries Van Notten definitely to die for.

Baseball cap

It’s finally making a comeback. This is not the same Ashton Kutcher circa 2002 trucker cap. It is more polished this time around as seen at Alexander Wang, Lanvin and Christian Dior.

High-waisted pants

Not for the faint-hearted and they can only make sense on certain types of body. They look great on the models at Rick Owens but would you wear them?

Bold shoulder

The shoulder seems to be the focal point for this year’s silhouette. Jackets and coats both have accentuated shoulder to give the manly proportion. Lanvin jackets have slightly pointed shoulder similar to the one made popular by Balmain.

Oversized bags

Rising popularity of clutch aside, men will still carry their bags to lug around daily necessity too big for their envelope clutch. So the bags for men this season have never been bigger in sizes. They are wider and more structured. The bags at Hermes, Gucci and Louis Vuitton are like some very irresistable work of art.

Which of these trends will you be rocking throughout 2012? Do tell us.
