How to Get Ready For Costume Party
By: hannef
We all love to party. But sometimes preparing for it can turn us into these fastidious monsters especially if certain theme is required. A lot of things could go wrong and you don’t want to stuck up like a sore thumb at a party just because your costume is a little bit different from others. Think about parties with Seventies theme, Heaven and Hell theme or even Grecian theme. Prepping yourself up for these types of parties can be both time consuming and expensive if you don’t know how to make full use of stuff that you might already have lying around in your house. A little bit of know-how will help you save a lot of cash and energy. You might even find yourself having a lot of fun throughout the process.
Here’s how to get ready for a theme party without wasting money and time.
Always dig up stuff from your basement, attic, dad’s closet or even the deep corner of your own for past decade theme party. Your dad’s seventies velvet suit will look spectacular for the Austin Powers party next week or your old eighties acid-wash jeans will be the envy of people at your friend’s I Love The 80′s birthday bash. You can always find these stuff at vintage store, but why do want to pay for it when it’s there hidden somewhere in a box inside the store room?
Consider a little bit of DIY project. Shred, snip and slash jeans, t-shirts even sweaters to turn them into one of a kind pieces for a theme party. Add sequins and stones to your daily blah-looking outfit to transform them into something more theme party-appropriate and glamorous. A little bit of red paint; for instance is all you need as blood splatters on your basic white shirt. Perfect look for a vampire theme party. See just how much of a difference it can make.

Always do your own make-up even if you need a little bit of extras like painted-on scar or face-paint. There are so many make-up tutorial videos on Youtube that you can check out. Find one that suits the theme and practice using make up items from your girl friend’s make-up bag. If you’re still not sure, ask your friend to do it for you.
Choose appropriate color for the theme. Even if you don’t wanna go all out with the costumes, at least pick an appropriate color scheme. White for angel and red for devil or green for St.Patrick’s Day party.
But above all, think of practicality of your costume. The white draped fabric that you have on you body must be carefully pinned or else you would ended up showing more than you’re supposed to. Although dressing up as a mummy for Halloween party sounds like a great idea, you have to bear with the heat and plan beforehand about what you are planning to do about nature calls.
So gentlemen, no more freaking out whenever there’s a party invite arrives in your mailbox from now on.
