There was a special feature program about Justin Bieber aired recently on E! very similar to the popular THS (True Hollywood Story) on his rise to fame and how he was actually discovered. It’s hard to believe all the troubles that Scooter Braun (now his manager) went through to get in touch with Bieber after watching his home-made video on Youtube. At one point he even called the school that Bieber went to. Well thanks (or no thanks) to Braun, Justin Bieber is now a world phenomenon!

Youtube is a great platform for aspiring musician to get wider audience to listen to their music and showcase their talent. Bieber is not the first Youtube success story. We even have our very own Zee Avi and Yuna who got signed to international labels through discovery of their videos on Youtube.

With that in mind Laundry, a staunch supporter of the local music scene in Kuala Lumpur launched YOUTUBE TO YOU SING LIVE SING OFF. The program is aimed to raise the profile of Malaysian music scene via its accessibility to the online community.

Anyone with webcam and a great voice can audition online from 23rd April onwards. Once submissions are sent, the top 50 will be reviewed online and 10 contestants will advance based on popular vote. The Top 10 performers will then be invited to perform 2 songs each at Laundry and the performance will be judged by key personalities from the music industry such as The Azenders, An Honest Mistake, Liyana Fizi as well as Pesawat and live audience voting. The finalist then will be narrowed down to Top3. The winner will be revealed at the Top 3 Finale Concert on the 28th of June.
