Stylish Celebs at The 2012 Billboard Music Awards
By: hannefThe 2012 Billboard Music Awards took place on Sunday celebrating the best of the music industry since last year’s award ceremony. A lot has happened in between. Whitney’s tragic death, the recent passing of disco’s era two prominent figures, Adele conquering the chart and Madonna making a lukewarm comeback. So the tributes to Whitney, Donna Summer, MCA of Beastie Boys and Robin Gibb were quite expected. So does Adele’s take over of the winner’s list in most categories that she was nominated for.
It was a great show. Jordin Sparks and John Legend sang Whitney’s hits, while Cee Lo did a number originally done by Beastie Boys. There were a lot of stars making surprise appearances as well like Brandy, Nelly Furtado and Monica. These singers have been off the radar lately but were all of a sudden at this year’s Billboard Music Awards making great entrance and performing on stage to promote their latest singles. Unfortunately, the usual ‘suspects’ like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna were obviously absent at the event. Good thing Katy Perry debuted her new single ‘Wide Awake’ on stage that night.
Now let’s talk about the red-carpet looks. Well the carpet was actually white but who cares when there were plenty to look at with all the stars dressed to the nines in their best designer garbs. Here are some of our picks of male celebs from the red-carpet of The 2012 Billboard Music Awards.
John Legend looking very casual yet stylish in his cropped jacket and sneakers on the red-carpet. The look is casual but not shabby.
Justin Bieber is still too young so we forgive him for this. He seems to be trying to find his (fashion) identity lately. On time he was in Dolce & Gabbana suit and all of a sudden he’s giving us this.
Robin Thicke is one example of celebs that really know their style. The jacket has great potential of a faux-pas but he made it his own by pairing it with his faded jeans. Even the pendant rocks!
Is it just us or this blue suit on Usher is screaming Kanye West for all the wrong reasons? It’s a little bit too shocking and the shoes just don’t work.
Some people may like this look on Wiz Khalifa but for red-carpet it’s just a bit too ‘street’. A jacket instead of the vest could totally transform this look around.
Now who’s your favorite best-dressed male celeb at the Billboard Music Awards? Let us know.
