Remember the YOUTUBE TO YOU “LIVE” – SING OFF competition? The much anticipated TOP TEN finalists of the singing competition have finally been revealed!

The submission of videos was opened to public on the 23 April and the program received overwhelming response with hundreds of videos submitted by aspiring singers. After the deadline on the 15 May, the best Top 50 videos were selected by the organisers of the program and put up for online voting on Facebook.  Voting was closed on 23 May revealing the Top 10 finest and talented amateur performances. The Top 10 include solo, duo or band performing songs of their choice. Participants range from tertiary education students to working adults who have an innate passion for music.

These lucky 10 will now advance to the Top 10 Live Showcase – Part One will take place on 31st May, Thursday and Part Two will take place the following week, on 7th June, Thursday. They will be invited to perform two songs each live at Laundry Bar in the coming weeks. Their live performances will be judged by artistes from the local indie music scene like Liyana Fizi, An Honest Mistake, Pesawat and The Azenders. The Top 6 best performances will be chosen based on song choice, performance and stage presence. The six semi finalists will then proceed to the next level as Top 3 finalists are picked to compete in the grand finale.

Grand Prize winner will be awarded RM5000 cash, RM1000 Laundry vouchers and a chance to perform a “Live Concert” in Laundry in July, plus extensive media coverage to start their road to fame. The 1st runner up will win RM3000 cash, RM500 Laundry vouchers and the 2nd runner up will get RM1000 cash and RM250 Laundry vouchers.

Good news for all the aspiring singers out there! Darrin Lin, Chief Creative Officer of the Chaswood Resources Group of Restaurants, which owns Laundry Bar, announced that the Sing-Off, YOUTUBE TO YOULIVE will be Laundry’s official online audition program and once a month, it will feature acts selected via the program to provide more opportunities to aspiring musicians.
