June is set to be another exciting month in performing art scene. Check out all the brilliant stage plays, musicals and concerts in KLPac, The Actors Studio and Performing Art Centre of Penang this month.

JUN 1 – 3 A CHORAL VOYAGE – CONTEMPORARY MASTERPIECES (P2)

Synopsis:

From the atmospheric sounds of a large cathedral choir to the enchanting and exquisite nuances of the Balinese gamelan, the Dithyrambic Singers promises to rejuvenate all.

Synopsis: Check this out! Singer-songwriters and other artistes play cover songs at The Actors Studio! This time, we will be featuring Ian Chow, Ariff Akhir and Lex Lakshman and more for an hour of good music. Hosted by Ian Chow, get to know more of  the man/woman behind the music, their inspiration, and lots more!

JUN 4 – 17 INDICINELIVE EPISODE 4 (TAS)

Synopsis: Premiering in 2010, INDICINELIVE! (in-dee-SEE-nee-live-!) satirizes the insane society we live in through a high-octane line-up of every-day characters, familiar situations, and parodies of songs we’ve heard and are all too familiar with. INDICINELIVE! is, essentially, a generous serving of how we see the world in fun-sized pieces – nothing quite like laughing at ourselves at the end of the day.

JUNE 5 – 10 USIKAN REBAB (P2)

Presenter: The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat

Genre: Monodrama

Date & Time: 5 – 10 June @ 8.30pm

Venue: Pentas 2, The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre

Ticket Prices: RM33 / RM 23

Synopsis: The story revolves around the divergence of religion, tradition and individualism in the current societal framework, whereby the traditional performing art of Mak Yong suffers a decline due to the focusing of priorities in other sectors of life.

JUN 5 – 10 MALAYSIA CHORAL EISTEDDFOD (ppac)

Presenter: Young Choral Academy

Venue: Stage 1, Stage 2, Gallery 1, Gallery 2, penangpac

Synopsis:

As for the MCE Festival, it is open to all; children choir, youth choir, adult choir and individuals. The festival would focus on various choral activities in encouraging diverse choral singing exposure and choral music appreciation.
