We can always count on MTV to deliver awards show filled with fun and excitement. There’s always a lot of ‘omigosh’ moments on MTV’s award shows. This time around it’s MTV Movie Awards. With categories like Best Onscreen Kiss and Best Fight, it’s good to loosen up and not to take things too seriously.
Twilight won Best Onscreen Kiss for the fourth consecutive year but too bad none of the leading guys were there when Kristen Stewart got up on stage to receive the award. As for Johnny Depp, he was just happy playing rockstar alongside the band Black Keys performing a song on stage. Katy Perry’s ex- Russell Brands hosted the show with his continuous assaulting jokes. One in particular was the one about Michael Fassbender’s ‘member’. Or shall we say Fassmember? But the highlight of the event has to be the sneak peak at the highly anticipated ‘Dark Night Rises’. The attendees applauded the acknowledgement of the late Heath Ledger and the work of movie genius Christopher Nolan.
So now let’s move on to the fashion of the night. MTV Movie Awards is always fun but it is not as wacky as MTV VMA. So don’t expect to see pasties, cyborgs or lace man-dress on the red-carpet. The looks are not as severe but at the same time these celebs are more free to show their individuality.
Here are some of our favorites from the red carpet of MTV Movie Awards 2012.
Mark Wahlberg shows off his awesome physique in this grey shirt but he decided to accessorize with a water bottle and cellphone on his hip. Yikes!
Channing Tatum can wear anything and still looks great. We just wish he buttoned up his shirt.
Thor’s Chris Hemsworth was almost unrecognizable in his proper get up of crisp shirt and black vest.
The new Spiderman Andrew Garfield shows off his toned arms wearing this fitted short-sleeve with a preppy tie. He needs a belt tho’
The band fun. shows off their personal style wearing thick-framed glasses, cropped pants and suspenders. They look like a bunch of stylish geeks.
