So what’s the fuss about Beb Sherman? The first store in Bangsar Village II
For those of you who are not in the know, the basic design of the shirt was influenced by the classic American Ivy League shirt but Ben Sherman added the back hook, the button on the back of the collar, but most importantly his feel and passion for fabric, pattern and colour created a unique garment. “The shirt” was embraced by British youth culture, loving it for its quality, slim-fitting style as well as its colour and unique design.
Subtle use of pattern combined with a sharp blue jacket
Simply perfect layering with cropped leather jacket on top
The cool combination of volumous jeans and lace up boots
If you go and check out the newly opened Ben Sherman store at above-mentioned locations, you will find out that there is more than just “the shirt” to the brand. Stocking up on its latest Autumn 2012 collection aptly named The Plectrum Collection, you will be able to find ‘Mod, meet rocker’ pieces like turtleneck knits worn under single-breasted three-button suits, tailored volumous pants paired with biker boots and jacket with strong shoulders layered on top of the famous Ben Sherman shirt.
The Plectrum Collection introduces the brand new polished and tailored looks with rocker and mod twist. The jeans are looser and the jackets fall nicely on the body. Layering is the key along with a little bit of geometric patterns and color blocking on roll and crew neck shirts. It may come across as preppy but remember that ‘mod, meet rocker’ is what this collection is all about.
Without a doubt, Ben Sherman is the icon of British fashion invasion. Spanning more than five decades, the brand legacy has found its way to Malaysia. Head on to Ben Sherman to experience it yourself.
