Real Men Wear Prints

Prints have seemed to pop up everywhere. Step into high-street label stores like Zara and Topman, the chances are there will be splashes of colors and floral burst on the racks. Evidently, it is no longer a women’s thing. Prints have actually taken over the gentlemen’s ¬†wardrobe!

It used to be colors and man, it was not easy to convince men to wear colors! But believe it or not we have now reached the level where men are finally confident enough to color-block their jackets with their trousers.

So now prints are the next in thing. Designer labels from Burberry to Prada have been pushing the trend for several seasons now. The fashion-forward crowd is convinced but the rest are still a bit confused on how to wear the trend.

Here are three simple steps to wear prints.

1. There are several different types of prints. Don’t restrict yourself to floral. Tribal patterns like ikats, paisleys and batiks are all the rage at the moment as seen on Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012 runway.

2. Start small with perhaps a simple tie with prints on it. Scarves with subtle prints can do the trick as well. Once you are comfortable enough, you can move on to printed tee which you can easily pair with your favorite jeans.

3.  The downfall of this trend is unlike your regular white shirts, you cannot wear it too often. People could easily noticed that you are wearing the same printed tee from the previous week. You have to switch it up.

Now are you ready for prints gentlemen?
