We were all in shock and dumbfounded over the release of the guidelines on “Gay and Lesbian Symptoms” by the Ministry of Education. Internet was abuzz and people just couldn’t stop wondering what these guidelines are based on.
Yes we made fun if it because well, it is simply ridiculous. But jokes aside, this is actually a really serious matter. Let’s not talk about political incorrectness (or correctness) and sensitive religious side of this. Here at Emm-a-man as shallow as this may sound, we always see things from the fashion perspective.
So V-neck is gay?! We feel sorry for all those straight heavy-set men out there. Why?! Because V-neck looks best on them! Not only it gives the illusion of longer neck, it also draws attention to the chest away from their full round face. Now (no)thanks to the guidelines, they are left with only two options: A.to keep wearing the V-neck, turn gay and look good B.switch to round-neck, stay straight but look like their heads are glued to their shoulders.
If you love to go the gym and have muscular body, then you are screwed. Looks like you have to cancel your gym membership and start spending more time sitting on the couch watching the repeat of football matches. Doesn’t matter if you no longer look good in your slim-cut suit and skinny jeans, just as long as you stay out of shape like how they claimed a straight man should be.
Men’s bag is totally out of the question as well. Well these people can never tell the difference between a weekender and a women’s handbag or a carry-all and a tote. Imagine going to work but not being able to lug your stuff around in your Louis Vuitton bag. This is not the 80s. Men these days have more stuff to carry around all day. That is why a proper bag is needed. It is just really strange how a “big bag” can actually determine one’s sexuality.
