Last year’s H&M collaboration with French designer Isabel Marant was such a huge hit. All of us were excited to rock her boho-inspired pieces for the first time since Marant has never before come out with any menswear collection under her namesake label. The result was beyond what we expected with tribal sweaters and rugged biker pants all sold out within just a few hours.
We are expecting pretty much the same from this year’s AW collaboration with Balenciaga’s Creative Director- Alexander Wang.
The collaboration was announced shortly after the release of Isabel Marant collaboration late last year. Fashion enthusiast just couldn’t contain their excitement flooding the social media with shared photos and short videos from the official H&M social media pages.
And up until now, there are very few details and most importantly visuals linked to the collaboration. H&M released two black and white images on its Instagram account teasing all of us of what to expect from the collaboration.
The first image is a miniature boxing gloves key-chain adorned with Alexander Wang monogram which confirms the sportswear influence of the collection. Boxing shorts and perhaps hoodies are two possible pieces if boxing is Wang’s point of reference.
As for the second image, it looks like the rubber sole of a shoe. It is good to know that we will be getting our hands on possibly a pair of Alexander Wang sneakers soon. We put our money on high-tops but then again we could be wrong. The straps across the ‘said’ rubber sole looks like it belongs to a gym bag or even a cross-body body. Is it a bag wrap around a sneaker?
We can’t keep playing this guessing game for much too long. Let’s just wait for November 6th when the collection will finally hit H&M stores across the globe. Would you be camping outside of the store the night before its release?
Without a doubt, we would!
