The lack of ovarian hormones causes several problems. Some of estrogen deficiency symptoms are hot flashes, difficulty controlling body temperature, sagging, mucous membranes of the dry urinary and reproductive systems (which leads to pain during sexual intercourse), mood swings, anxiety and depression, decreased libido and insomnia. Progesterone deficiency, in turn, cause cramps, nausea, fluid retention and irritability.
